The Sarnia Police Service responded to the area of Talfourd Street at Proctor Street for a 911 call just after 4:00pm on the 27th of June, 2023.
It was reported that two men were fighting and that one of the men used a BB gun to shoot the other.
The accused in this matter was found a short time later at the area of Brock Street and Wellington Street in Sarnia.
He was safely detained and a search resulted in a loaded CO2-powered BB gun being found concealed in the waistband of his pants.
Additionally, knives were found hidden and in the possession of the accused in a manner that is in breach of his pre-existing weapons prohibition.
The victim who was struck by the BBs was located, had suffered minor injuries and left the area not wanting to be involved with a police investigation.
The accused is a 43 year-old Sarnia man who is charged with:
Carrying a concealed weapon CC s. 90
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose CC. s. 88
Fail to comply with Probation Order CC s. 733.1(1)
Fail to comply with Release Order CC s. 145(5)(a) x4
The identity of the accused has not been released as the information for the charges has yet to be sworn. He is set to appear in bail court on the 28th of June, 2023.
