Weapons Complaint at 125 Euphemia

  Broadcast Time:    4:55 pm                            Date: 2023/04/26 On April 25, 2023, shortly after 10:00 am members of the public observed a male openly carrying what appeared to be a shotgun or long barrel firearm. The male was followed until he entered 125 Euphemia Street South where he was then observed to wrap up or conceal the firearm and proceed inside the building. Sarnia Police Uniform Patrol Officers and Emergency Response Team Officers attended and contained the area within minutes. Missing 27 year old female

  Broadcast Time:    7:45pm                            Date: April 25, 2023   The Sarnia Police Service is requesting the community’s assistance in locating a 27 year old female, Ricci-lyn LEGAULT. Ms. LEGAULT is described as a female white, approximately 5’2 weighing approximately 115 pounds. She has long brown hair, brown eyes and a scar on her left cheek. No clothing description provided. 125 Euphemia Re-open to the public

  Broadcast Time:        1:00pm                        Date: 2023/04/25   Sarnia Police Service would like to advise that the 100 Block of Euphemia has been re-opened to the public. Sarnia Police responded to a weapons complaint in the 100 Block of Euphemia St. S shortly after 10:00am. A male was observed by members of the public to be carrying a firearm. Uniform Patrol Officers and Emergency Response Team Officers attended and contained the area within minutes. As a result of the investigative effort both at and behind the scenes, a male was quickly located and arrested. The matter is still under investigation at this time.

Mr. READ is described as a white male approximately 5’5 in height and weighing approximately 110 pounds. Officer Charged in Off-Duty Incident

  Broadcast Time:    12:45pm                            Date: April 21, 2023   On April 21st 2023, the Sarnia Police Service responded to an incident involving an off duty Sarnia police officer at a private residence.  As a result of this investigation, Constable Chris Beauchamp has been charged with assault contrary to the Criminal Code.  The matter is now before the courts.    Pursuant to the Police Services Act (PSA) Chief Davis has directed that an internal investigation be initiated into these matters.  Constable Beauchamp is currently assigned to non-operational duties.          Detective Inspector Leo Murphy Criminal Investigations Division Tel: 519-344-8861, Extension 6142

Grass Fire – Sandpiper Dr. – Update

  Broadcast Time:        2:30pm                Date:14 April 14, 2023   Sarnia Police Service and Sarnia Fire Rescue responded to the scene of an active grass fire in the area of Sandpiper Drive and the Howard Watson Trail. There is considerable smoke being generated by the active fire, so residents in the area should close their windows and doors to prevent the smoke from entering into their homes. At this point, the only things on fire are natural materials. People are requested to remain away from the area to allow the fire department to extinguish the fire.
