At approximately 2:20 AM, on May 5, 2023, Sarnia Police responded to a collision that took place on Queen Street. Upon arrival officers located a vehicle that had struck a parked dump truck. Both the vehicle and the dump truck had sustained significant damage.
The driver was transported to hospital due to injuries sustained. Also, grounds were formed to arrest the driver for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
While at the hospital samples of breath were taken from the accused by a Sarnia Police Service breath technician. Samples indicated that the driver was approximately three times the legal limit.
The 27 year old driver now faces one count of impaired operation and one count of having a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
