Sarnia Police Service and Sarnia Fire Rescue responded to the scene of an active grass fire in the area of Sandpiper Drive and the Howard Watson Trail.
There is considerable smoke being generated by the active fire, so residents in the area should close their windows and doors to prevent the smoke from entering into their homes. At this point, the only things on fire are natural materials.
People are requested to remain away from the area to allow the fire department to extinguish the fire. Sarnia Fire Rescue is still actively working to contain the fire and police are on the scene to control access to the area. Another update will be provided when the fire is extinguished or if further instruction is required for residents in the area.
