Impaired Collision leads to arrest

At 1:37am on the 3rd of February 2024, police were called to a collision at Queen Street / Confederation Street. A blue Kia had struck a utility pole with significant force, by driving in reverse. The vehicle unsuccessfully attempted to flee the scene, with damaged parts of the vehicle sparking along the roadway.

Sarnia Police officers located and stopped the vehicle with female driver still behind the wheel. Odour and evidence of alcohol consumption, along with obvious physical signs of impairment, were observed. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Sarnia Police Station for breath samples. Testing revealed a blood alcohol concentration of more than two times the legal limit.

A 25 year old female has been charged with impaired driving and over .08
