Pushed from Moving Car - Assault Cause Bodily Harm Arrest
On June 16th, 2024, at approximately 1607 hours, Sarnia Police were dispatched to the area of Indian Road and Devine Street regarding a hit-and-run.
Officers arrived and spoke with an injured female in the care of paramedics. The 58 year old female indicated that she had been in a vehicle with a male driver known to her as “Jeff”. While driving, an argument arose during which time “Jeff” pushed her out of the moving car at approx. 50kph. The victim suffered a dislocated knee and scratches. She was treated at hospital and later released.
Further investigation revealed the involved male to be Jeffrey BARRY (62 years) of Sarnia.
On July 30 2024 at 7:10am, police were on the scene of an unrelated matter when an officer recognized BARRY nearby. He was placed under arrest and transported to Sarnia Police Headquarters.
As a result of this investigation, Jeffrey Barry has been held for bail on the following criminal charges:
- Assault
- Assault Cause Bodily harm
- Dangerous Driving
- Failure to Stop after Accident
BARRY was remanded into custody at his bail hearing.
