Former Sarnia basketball coach arrested on additional historical sexual offences against children

Update to this investigation:
In fall of this year the Sarnia Police Service entered into two separate historical sexual assault investigations with offences dating back to the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. During this time, the accused was in a position of authority as a youth basketball coach within the community.
The accused now faces additional charges as a result of additional victims being identified.
On November 8, 2024, the Sarnia Police Service made arrangements for James (Jim) Matthew Miller (59 years of age), now of Penticton British Columbia, to be arrested with the assistance of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in BC.
James Miller has been charged with the following offences:
- · Sexual Interference (7 counts)
- · Invitation to Sexual Touching (3 counts)
- · Sexual Assault (1 count)
Following his arrest, he was brought before a Sarnia court, via virtual proceedings, and subsequently released with conditions in BC.
This investigation is ongoing and the Sarnia Police Service would like to speak with anyone who may have additional information or may be a victim.
