Sarnia Break and Enter / Sexual Assault - Public Safety Advisory - Kathleen Ave/East Street

At 08:37 am on Nov 26, 2024, the Sarnia Police were called to the 300 block of Kathleen Ave for a Break and Enter call that had occurred several hours earlier that morning. 

At approx. 3 am, a male had made entry into a residence where the female occupant was asleep.  She woke to a naked male standing beside her bed holding a knife. A struggle ensued where the victim caused the male to drop the knife and flee the residence.  The victim was sexually assaulted but did not require medical attention.   

The description is a white male in their 20s, bald head, with a distinctive tattoo on the right side of his body.

Members of the Criminal Investigations Branch, Identification Branch and General Patrol processed the scene, and are canvassing the area for any potential witnesses or video surveillance.

Sarnia Police Service is requesting that anyone in the area of East Street/Wellington Street/Walnut Ave S/Cherry Dr with dash cam or video surveillance to please contact the Sarnia Police Service Detective Reg Musclow at 519-344-8861 ext 6198.

Residents can expect increased police patrol presence in this neighbourhood.  This is an active Investigation and additional information will be provided when available. 

Residents are asked to ensure their residences are secure and any suspicious activity is reported to police.
