Police Investigating Attempted Robbery in Sherwood Village Park

The Sarnia Police Service is continuing to investigate an attempted robbery in Sherwood Village Park in the evening of August 4, 2023.

 Around 6:15 pm, a lone female was walking her dog in the park in the area behind Oaklea Court when she was confronted from behind by an unknown assailant. This individual assaulted the female and threw her to the ground while attempting to remover her purse from her.  Once the female fell to the ground, the attacker fled the area. The female was taken to hospital by ambulance, treated for her injuries and subsequently discharged.

Sarnia Police Criminal Investigations officers, with the assistance of uniform patrol, are canvassing the area of Sherwood Village Park, seeking the public’s assistance. Specifically, officers are interested in any video surveillance that people may have that capture the access points to the park or that capture images within the park itself.
