Sarnia Vice Unit Drug Arrest

During the Spring of 2023, members of the Sarnia Police Vice Unit began a Project, investigating a group of individuals from the GTA.

In the evening hours on June 7, 2023, a vehicle was stopped in the 100 block of Russell Street, South. During the stop, the driver of the motor vehicle rammed an unmarked police vehicle with two police officers inside, in an attempt to evade arrest. Luckily, neither the police officers nor the occupants of the suspect vehicle were injured however, the police vehicle sustained damage. Officers were able to contain the situation and safely bring two individuals within the vehicle into custody. A search of the vehicle commenced and, as a result, the following was seized:

  • 419.83 grams of methamphetamine
  • 165.61 grams of fentanyl
  • 66.05 grams of cocaine
  • $552.75 Canadian Currency

The total street value of drugs and cash seized was approximately $58,450.25.

The accused, Martins OMOREGIE, age 24, of Toronto, faces the following charges:

  1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
  2. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl
  3. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine
  4. Dangerous Drive

The accused, Nana OPOKU, age 22, of Toronto, faces the following charges:

  1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
  2. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl
  3. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine
  4. Fail to Comply with Release Order x 2

OMOREGIE and OPOKU were both held pending a bail hearing.
