On Friday, July 7, 2023 at 11:01 pm, the Sarnia Police Service – Community Response Division was called to attend at the 7-11 on Christina Street North, Sarnia for an assault that had just occurred.
The information that was initially received was that there was an altercation that had just occurred in the parking lot of the business between several youths and the suspect had fled the scene.
Upon arrival, police officers were able to determine that a 16-year-old male had been stabbed and was requiring immediate medical attention for serious injuries to his torso and arm.
A 16-year-old female was also on scene who had sustained a minor injury to her hand.
The Emergency Medical Service (EMS) attended and transported both victims to Bluewater Health – Emergency Department for treatment.
At 11:07 pm, the Sarnia Police Service received another call to attend a private residence for a male who had been stabbed. Police and EMS attended and found a 17-year-old male with serious stab wounds to his torso. This male was connected to the original incident on Christina Street. The male was also transported to Bluewater Health – Emergency Department for treatment.
Both the 16 and the 17-year-old males were subsequently transported to the London Health Sciences for serious injuries, where they remain under care. The 16-year-old female was treated and released from Bluewater Health.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating the incident and updates will be made available as the investigation unfolds, which is still in its infancy.
This is an isolated incident, as the involved parties were known to each other.
