Broadcast Time: 3 pm Date: March 7th, 2024
On the 6th of March 2024, at 8:30pm, the Sarnia Police were called to a Sycamore Drive residence in the City of Sarnia.
Information received was that Cordell CHAMBERS 29 years of Sarnia, was present at that location. At that time, he was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and breaching his probation. Upon police arrival CHAMBERS refused to exit the residence necessitating that police contain the area. Given his non-compliance, the SPS Emergency Response Team was activated. The Emergency Response Team has specialized equipment, training and capabilities to safely force entry into the residence if needed.
Despite multiple requests to exit the residence peaceably, CHAMBERS continued to refuse. At 10:50pm, SPS ERT officers made entry into the residence and arrested him without further incident. He was held for a Bail Hearing on the strength of the original warrant and original charges.
