This morning, Saturday July 22, 2023, around 2:00 a.m. the victims, an elderly male and his wife were asleep in their residence on the 700 block of Earlscourt Drive, Sarnia. The victims were awoken by a lone male suspect brandishing an edged weapon, demanding property from them. The suspect attacked the male using the weapon causing lacerations to the victim’s head. The suspect then fled the residence and is believed to have travelled north.
The victim was transported to the Bluewater Health hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch is actively investigating this incident and is requesting assistance from neighboring residents we may have missed during the initial canvass.
