On April 7th, 2024 the Sarnia Police Service appealed to the public for the return of a set of child size football jerseys that were purchased for a youth flag football league.
The jerseys, which were purchased for the entire league, had a value of $7000 and would have caused a significant financial burden to replace for the youth league.
Thankfully, on April 8, 2024, a citizen, who was aware of this theft after reading the police media release, located a discarded box near an apartment building on London Road. The box contained the football jerseys and the citizen contacted the Sarnia Police Service.
The jerseys were returned to the league.
