Two male youths charged with drug trafficking

On February 1, 2024, the Sarnia Police Vice Unit entered into a drug investigation regarding drug trafficking in the City of Sarnia.

Police investigators identified two suspects and at approximately 6:03 pm, the Sarnia Police Vice Unit, in collaboration with the Operations Division and Street Crimes Unit, executed a targeted traffic stop in the 200 block of Durand Street, Sarnia.

Two male youths from London, Ontario, aged 16 and 17, were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. A search of the youths revealed that they were in possession of 101.46 grams of fentanyl, 0.32 grams of cocaine, and $475 in cash. One of the arrested youths was found to be in possession of a flare gun, which was painted silver and accompanied by two rounds of ammunition for the gun.

Both youths were charged for possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and fentanyl. The 16-year-old youth faces additional charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and two counts of breaching a youth sentence order. Both parties were held for a bail hearing and later released with a future court date.

The street value of the seized drugs is estimated at approximately $15,081.
