Weapons Investigation on Exmouth Street

Following the swift and coordinated efforts of the Sarnia Police, the situation has been resolved, and there is no longer a concern for public safety in the area. Overnight Stabbing – Exmouth Street

     Broadcast Time:    12:52pm                            Date: 2024/02/19 Shortly after midnight on February 19, 2024 Sarnia Police responded to a reported stabbing in an Exmouth Street residence. Information was received from a male caller that he had just been stabbed. SPS Patrol Officers responded and located the victim, a 37 year-old Sarnia resident. He was observed to have sustained at least two stab wounds to his back, and was transported to Bluewater Health Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Off Duty SPS Officer Faces Charges

Broadcast Time:    12:15pm                        Date: 2024/02/19 On Feb 18, 2024, the Sarnia Police Service responded to an incident involving an off duty Sarnia police officer at a private residence.  As a result of this investigation, Constable Tim VanCowenberg has been charged with assault, forcible confinement, and mischief contrary to the Criminal Code.  This incident is now before the courts.  Pursuant to the provisions of the Police Services Act (PSA), SPS Chief Derek Davis has directed a concurrent internal investigation be initiated into these matters.  Cst. VanCowenberg has been re-assigned to non-operational duties pending the outcome of these proceedings.

Motor Vehicle Collision Causes Power Outage

  Broadcast Time:                                Date: 2024/02/19 On February 18, 2024, at approximately 2:20 pm, the Sarnia Police Service, as well as Sarnia Fire Rescue and Lambton EMS, responded to the intersection of Confederation Street and Murphy Road for a single vehicle collision.
