Arrest Made in Early Morning Home Invasion

  Broadcast Time:    5:00 pm            Date: Sunday October 22nd, 2023 The Sarnia Police Service has arrested a male suspect for an early morning home invasion. Shortly after 4:30 am, on October 22, 2023 the suspect broke into a residence on Afton Drive in the City of Sarnia. While inside the residence, the suspect encountered the occupants (2 adult victims) and threatened them with a hammer, while demanding their valuables. No Further Evidence of Shooting Found at Rainbow Park

  Broadcast Time:    10:45am                    Date: Sunday October 22nd, 2023   After a ground and aerial search of Rainbow Park that took place this morning, no further evidence of a shooting has been found. Officers contained and searched the Park, adjacent waterfront area and neighboring yards after gunshots were heard at 6:00am. The SPS drone was deployed and used to conduct a visual search from the air – allowing officers to search areas they could not access on foot. Active investigation of gunshots heard at Rainbow Park

  Broadcast Time:    8:00am                    Date: Sunday October 22nd, 2023   There is a significant police presence at Rainbow Park after gunshots were heard coming from the Park area at 6:00am this morning. An SPS investigation is currently underway and the park is currently off-limits to the public. No further evidence of a shooting has been found as of yet – another update will be released as information becomes available. Motorcycle driver in critical care following collision

  Broadcast Time:    2:40pm                            Date: Saturday October 21st, 2023 The sixteen-year-old driver of a motorcycle was airlifted to London, Ontario and remains in critical care after sustaining serious injuries in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred during the afternoon of the 20th of October, 2023. The collision forced the closure of the intersection of Michigan Line and Mandaumin Road for several hours to allow for the rescue of the injured driver as well as for traffic reconstruction investigators to analyze the scene. Robbery Attempt – Mitton Village

Broadcast Time:        10:00am                Date: October 19, 2023 On October 18th, 2023, at approximately 11:20 pm a male party was walking on Mitton Street in the area commonly known as the “Mitton Village”. Two male parties who emerged from the area of a vacant business accosted the victim, demanding his money and phone. Three Impaired Drivers Arrested Over Thanksgiving Weekend

  Broadcast Time:    2:30pm                    Date:     October 10, 2023   A 32-year-old female from Sarnia, along with a 51-year-old male from Corunna as well as a 38-year-old male from London were arrested and charged with Impaired Driving over the holiday weekend.   On October 6, 2023, at approximately 8:15pm, the accused in the first case was allegedly driving northbound on Willow Glen Court at a high rate of speed when she failed to negotiate the curve and struck a parked vehicle on the north side of this same street.   Broadcast Time:    2:24 pm                Date: October 3rd, 2023   A Sarnia man has been arrested following an early morning stabbing between two individuals in the area of Euphemia St. and Davis St. in the City of Sarnia. The men, who were known to each other, were involved in an altercation resulting in one male stabbing the other in the leg. The victim received emergency medical treatment from responding officers and Lambton EMS. He was transported to an area hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition. Male passing counterfeit bills

  Broadcast Time:    11:40 am            Date:    October 3, 2023 On Monday, September 11, 2023 the Sarnia Police Service investigated multiple occurrences in the City of Sarnia where a male had attended local businesses where he produced counterfeit $100 bills. The suspect passed the counterfeit bills in order to make purchases for items and retrieve real currency with the change received for the fraudulent purchases. Surveillance photos were obtained and the suspect was subsequently identified as Dylan LAFORET (24) of Windsor, Ontario. LAFORET has been linked to similar incidents in neighbouring jurisdictions.
