Arrest Made in Weapons Call

Broadcast Time:    11:40 am Date: July 28, 2023 On July 26th 2023 the victim, an adult male Sarnia resident, was fishing in the area of Ferry Dock Hill. He was approached by an unknown male suspect, who attempted to initiate an unsolicited conversation. When the victim would not engage with him, the suspect suddenly produced a handgun and pointed it directly at the victim’s head. A short exchange of words took place and the suspect fled the area. Building Fire and Road Closure – St. Clair Parkway

  Broadcast Time:    7:19am                            Date: July 28th, 2023   Emergency Services are currently responding to a fire at a building in the area of the St. Clair Parkway at Lasalle Line. The entire intersection and some of the area beyond are closed in order to facilitate the appropriate response. Persons travelling in the area may still access Highway 40. Home Invasion – Earlscourt Dr. **UPDATE**

  Broadcast Time:    3pm                        Date: 24Jul23 *UPDATE* to original release, 22Jul23 11:20am. https://www.sarniapolice.ca/home-invasion-earlscourt-dr/   Sarnia Police officers continue to investigate a violent home invasion that occurred in the area of Earlscourt Drive and Exmouth Street in the city of Sarnia. Investigation revealed that the 81-year-old victim in this matter sustained multiple edged weapon lacerations to his head and defensive wounds to his hands. These injuries resulted in approx. 100 stitches and a skull fracture. Despite the severity of his injuries, he has been treated medically and is now recovering at home with family. Male Arrested For Possessing Weapons

He was found to be in possession of two black handled axes, a large knife and a loaded Beretta Replica BB handgun. Grego was subject to a previous release order in relation to the offences of assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death, and failing to comply with a release order by possession of a weapon. Home Invasion – Earlscourt Dr.

  Broadcast Time: 11:20am                            Date: July 22, 2023 This morning, Saturday July 22, 2023, around 2:00 a.m. the victims, an elderly male and his wife were asleep in their residence on the 700 block of Earlscourt Drive, Sarnia. The victims were awoken by a lone male suspect brandishing an edged weapon, demanding property from them. The suspect attacked the male using the weapon causing lacerations to the victim’s head. The suspect then fled the residence and is believed to have travelled north. The victim was transported to the Bluewater Health hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
